Jacob Von Neida Mohn was born May 4, 1850 in Adamstown, Berks County, PA the son of Henry Albright and Catherine (Von Neida) Mohn. He married Fanny Reitzel on May 20, 1875 in Baldwin, Dauphin County, PA. He died March 1, 1891 in Mt. Vernon, Davison County, South Dakota. Photograph taken summer 2000.

The cemetary plot in Mt. Vernon where Jacob von Neida Mohn is buried was purchased by Murat Sayles. Murat homesteaded a farm in Mt. Vernon with his wife Lydia. The Sayles' and the Mohn family knew each other. Lydia passed away and Murat purchased the plot. Later a married daughter ("Comfort") died and was buried there as well as a grandchild named "Comfort". When Fanny Mohn became a widow with a grown son-Russell and three younger children, Hadassah (my grandmother, "Nene"), Roderick and Marsena she married Murat. Murat was about 25-30 years older than Fanny, and had grown children, all of whom were married except for his son Ernest who was working at the Plankinton Reform School. At some point after they married, he had Jacob von Neida Mohn reburied in the Sayles plot as well. (Betty Renton Miller, great-great grandaughter of Jacob Von Neida Mohn March 1, 2001)
