Howard Sylvester Hughart was born in Fayette County, West Virginia, on 17 October 1897, son of the late Alines
Josephine Hughart. He married Julie Florence Adkins about 1920. Julie was born on 14 or 16 July 1897,

Howard laid coal car tracks in coal mines and was a coal loader. He also worked in a sawmill during part of his life. Julie died in November 1974, and Howard died on 18 October 1983. Both are buried in the Ennis Cemetery in Red Springs, Fayette County, West Virginia. Howard and Julies children are:
