William was the son of Frances Bruce (Banks) & Henry Meacham, Sr. verified in numerous Family Trees in Ancestry & other documents.
Served in the American Revolutionary War, as a Private under
Lt. Col. John Nevill. DAR #A204809 and SAR #P-247179
William was first married to Jane Aldin on Jan. 25, 1748 in Middlesex County, VA. They had one daughter, Mary (1751-1794). On their marriage license, Jane is listed as a widow so Aldin was her married name, see info on Jane below.
(I received a message from Alison Leach #49117936 that she had found the Will of John Aldin dated December 10, 1746 in the Parish of Christ Church in Middlesex County, VA. John list the following people: his wife Jane, daughters Frances & Elizabeth, both under the age of 21, son John, mother and estate of his deceased father.
I still do not have the maiden name for Jane but hope someone will know it and pass it on. I do not know if she passed away or they were divorced.
William next married Elizabeth "Betsy" Crutchfield in 1754 at the age of 34, according to Ancestry family trees & life facts. It also appears that Elizabeth married a William Hicks on 2/18/1800 and then left him and remarried William Meacham on 5/4/1801.
William & Elizabeth had 8 children from what I have been able to put together out of Family Search & Ancestry:

Elizabeth June (1758-1829)
Joseph (1761-1838)
James Spencer (1762-1846)
