Jack Truax Garland, 87, Needmore, died Staurday, October 4, 1997 in the Extended Care, Fulton County Medical Center.
Born April 27, 1910 in Needmore, he was the son of the late John F. and Katherine Truax Garland.
He was a roadmaster for 24 years in Belfast Township, and a saw miller. He also was a farmer all of his life.
He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore.
He is survived by his wife, Georgianna Deshong Garland, whom he married on April 2, 1938; one daughter Helen Cowell of Titusville, PA; one son, Dale W. Garland of Needmore and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, one step-sister and two step-brothers.
Services were held Wednesday, October 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren. Rev. Roger Truax officiated. Burial was mad in the church cemetery.
The Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
