YEARS DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS.
Mary Cody, 86, said to be a woman without a home, died Tuesday in the Allen Baptist Sanitarium in this city where she had been since December 10 as a patient of the county. She died of a complication of bright's disease and cancer.
Miss Cody had never married and for the past twenty years had lived in this county by traveling from farm house to farm house where she would stay for possibly a week or more and then move on to another place.
Farmers would come home of an evening with their families and find Miss Cody in one of the bedrooms which she had occupied during their absence or would be awakened during the night by her knock on the door. Other times she would come in the day time and insist on staying a week or more.
Efforts were made at several times to send the aged lady to the county farm but always she refused to go and would disappear for a few days then finally show up again at different farm houses throughout the county. She was well known to every supervisor who has been on the county board during the past ten years.
Funeral services and burial will be held at Annapolis in the vicinity where
she spent most of her life living among the different families.
