GRAND PRAIRIE - Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Lou Spoonemore, 72, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Roman Alvarez and the Dr. E.K. Oldham officiating.

Burial will be in Southland Memorial Park in Grand Prairie, under the direction of Southland Funeral Home.

Mrs. Spoonemore, 543 Hensley Dr., Grand Prairie, died Wednesday evening in a Dallas hospital after a short illness. She was born near Greenville and had lived in Greenville until moving to Grand Prairie 16 years ago.

She was married to John W. Spoonemore on Nov. 5, 1911. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by six sons: James Elbert Spoonemore of Dallas, Roy Spoonemore of Dallas, Earl Spoonemore of Grand Prairie, Dalton Charles Spoonemore of Greenville, J.W. Spoonemore Jr. of Englewood, Calif, and Jackie Glenn of Grand Prairie; two daughters, Mrs. Ida Mae Murdock of Greenville and Mrs. Leta Faye Precopia of Grand Prairie; and two brothers Alva Abbott and Raymond Abbott both of Greenville. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a number of neices (sic) and nephews.
