DORSET — Andrea Brophy Coolidge, 48 of Dorset, Vt., died Sunday May 11, 2008 at her home. She was born on Nov. 18, 1959 in Bennington, Vt., the daughter of Gary and Barbara (Grout) Brophy. She was a 1977 graduate of Arlington Memorial High School and graduated from Champlain College in 1980 with a degree in Business and Criminal Justice. She married John "Hal" Coolidge on Aug. 29, 1987 in Dorset.
Andrea was employed at Bromley Mountain for the past 27 years where she was in charge of security. She was an honorary member of the Blue Knights, a member of the Green Mountain Travelers and the United Church of Dorset-East Rupert. Andrea enjoyed the outdoors, camping, traveling, motorcycling with the Blue Knights, gardening, raising her German Shepherds and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, her mother; a brother and sister-in-law,; a sister; a brother-in-law; a sister-in-law and her nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father Gary in 1978.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the United Church of Dorset-East Rupert. Reverend Dr. James Gray will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Maple Hill Cemetery in Dorset. Friends may call at the Brewster Funeral Home, 34 Park Place, Manchester on Thursday, May 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in Andrea's memory be made to the Dorset Sportsmen's Club c/o Brewster Funeral Service, PO Box 885, Manchester, VT 05255.
