ASHEBORO - Hilary Jackson York, 90, of Old Liberty Road died Saturday, March 18, 1995, at Randolph Hospital Inc.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Balfour Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Blanton officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

Mr. York was a native of Randolph County and retired from Acme-McCrary Hosiery Corp. after 31 years. He was a partner in York's Auto Service. He was a member of Balfour Baptist Church and he was the original bass singer in the "Friendly Four Quartet". He was preceded in death by his sons, Terry York and Benson York.

Survivors include wife, Mrs. Mary Brower York of the home; daughter, Mrs. Jon "Susan" Lumpkin of Asheboro; sisters, Mrs. Lucy Swain of Asheboro and Mrs. Hattie Lois Cain of Ramseur; brothers, Arthur York and Herbert York, both of Asheboro, Fred York of Ramseur, and Lonnie York of Liberty; grandchildren, Kim Plott of Winston-Salem, Lisa Kennedy and Debra Rogers of Asheboro, and Benson Craig York, Jr. of Norma, OK; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. tonight and at the home at other times.
