Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Johnnie (Patsy Jean Boatright) Brooks, a former resident who died Wednesday in Stanton, Tex., are pending at Carpenter Funeral Home here. Burial will be in Sunset Garden Cemetery.
Mrs. Brooks was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. Boatright of Carlsbad. She was a 1956 graduate of Carlsbad High, and a former employe of the Current Argus.
Shortly after graduation she had gone to business college in Midland, Tex., and had married and moved to Stanton, where she had lived about a year.
She was born June 13, 1937, in Lamesa, Tex., but lived most of her life in Carlsbad. Surviving, in addition to her husband and parents, are two brother, Leland, El Paso; and Doyle, stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash.; and all four grandparents, who live in Lamesa.
Services will also be held in Stanton, before the body is returned to Carlsbad.

Services for Patsy Jean Boatright Brooks were held this afternoon from the Carpenter Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. C.C. Meadows, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating; assisted by O.H. Tabor of the Fox and Lake Church of Christ.
Burial was in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Mrs. Brooks died Wednesday in Stanton, Tex., at the age of 23.
She was a former resident of Carlsbad, and a 1956 graduate of Carlsbad High. Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Boatright of 110 South Fifth Street are her parents.
