Jennie A. Merrill, age 85, of Monmouth, IL; passed away at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, on March 29, 2011 at 10:18 am. Jennie was born on October 4, 1925 in Monmouth and is the daughter of Earl R. and Mearl Stickell Curry. She was raised in Monmouth where she attended public schools and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1943. She was married to Lee Merrill on February 4, 1950 in Monmouth, Illinois. Lee preceded her in death on January 21, 1997. Jennie began work in the office of General Telephone in Monmouth and was employed there many years. In later years she worked as receptionist for Wendell F. Roller, MD in Monmouth, IL. until retirement. Jennie is a member of First Christian Church in Monmouth and for many years was an active volunteer for the Warren County Bloodmobile. She also served as an election judge for many years in Warren County. Jennie was involved also with the "Meals on Wheels" program in Monmouth, for numerous years. Surviving are two sons Greg (Glenda) Merrill of Galesburg, and Kent (Crista Liggett) Merrill of Monmouth, Illinois. One daughter survives Karen (Mark) Troline of Macomb, Illinois. There are four grandchildren Selina Baker, Ashley, Brandon, and Brittany Troline. One Great Grandson Cam; and Three Step Grandchildren and Eight Step Great Grandchildren. Three sisters survive, Jody (Vince) Morrissey and Betty Ledbetter both of Galesburg, and Mary (Charles) Bowen of Garden Grove, California. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, six brothers, and two sisters.

Services: A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday April 2, 2011 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Interment will be in Monmouth Cemetery. Her family plans to receive friends for 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service at Turnbull Funeral Home. A memorial fund is being established for "Youth Education"
