LAST RITES SET TODAY FOR RANDOLPH ACCIDENT VICTIM

Winchester – Services for Joseph Laverne Driscoll, 32 years old, who was killed early Sunday morning in an automobile accident on Ind.-32, five miles east of here, will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Maynard & Walker funeral home in Winchester. Rev. Robert Clark will officiate with burial in Hopewell Cemetery near Farmland.

Driscoll was killed when his automobile went out of control on a curve on Ind.-32 just east of the Harrisville Road. The car clipped off a telephone pole five-feet above the ground and rolled over several times for approximately 800 feet before stopping in a field. Driscoll was thrown from the car and was found about 30 feet from the smashed vehicle.

According to Sheriff Jack Cox, one door of the automobile was flung 250 feet beyond the auto. Motorists following behind Driscoll saw the car lights swerve off the road. Cox said the report of Dr. C. R. Chambers, Randolph County Coroner, indicated Driscoll died of severe neck injuries.

Driscoll was Randolph county’s sixteenth traffic victim for 1963.

Employed as a mould maker at Overmyer Mould in Winchester, Driscoll was a veteran of the Korean war, member of Winchester American Legion Post, No. 39, and a member of the board of deacons at the Presbyterian church.

Survivors include the widow, Donna; two daughters, Sharon Rose and Janna Jo of Richmond; one brother, Marion (Gene) Driscoll of Farmland; his father, Roger Driscoll of Muncie; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Joseph Ulmer of Redkey and paternal grandmother, Mrs Iva Eller of Muncie.
