Betty attended Sutherlin High School. She later graduated from South Western Oregon Community College. During her time in college, she was very proud to have been on the Pep Squad at the age of 36.
Betty was married to a Mr. Bratton.
She took great joy in her job as a Vocational Rehabilitation Councilor. Betty was married in April of 1979 in Florence, Oregon, to Gene Hutchins. Gene and Betty led many tours into the Baja area of Mexico, enjoying every one of them before his death in August of 1988.
Betty is survived by two sons, Carlan Bratton and his wife, Irene of Oakland, Oregon and Brian Bratton of the Green Area in Roseburg; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Norma Sellars of Roseburg; Michael and Jo Sellars of Medford; and Bob and Eldean Sellars of Eugene; two granddaughters, Sara Bratton of Orlando, Florida and Shauna Bratton of Eugene; numerous nieces, nephews, and close personal friends; caregiver, Julie Park and special friend and caregiver, Charlie Thomas, of Coos Bay.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Mark and a sister, Grace.
