.
Husband of:
.
1) Mary "Polly" Warren, whom he married before 1820, and with whom he had four known children:
Diadama DeLong
Charlotte Isabel DeLong
Unknown Daughter DeLong
Leonora E. DeLong
.
2) His death record indicates that he had 6 wives, but I have identified only his first wife, Polly Warren.
.
After the breakup of this marriage (1831-1834), Elias disappeared for 40 years and I have been unable to find him in any census record. He then reappeared, at home, on the family farm in Shoreham, VT where he died in 1874. I suspect that he may have been in Canada with his subsequent wives during the time that he was "missing." Or he was elsewhere with an assumed name.
.
Although there is no record of his burial in Addison County, I also suspect that he was buried in the West Cemetery in Shoreham, which is close to the DeLong farm (where he died per his death record) and is the location of his father's burial and the burials of other members of his family.
