Charles "Fred" McGhee
SENECA -- Charles "Fred" McGhee, 78, Centralia, died Monday in a Seneca hospital where he had been a patient four days.
Mr. McGhee was born March 17, 1889, in Kansas City. He had lived in Centralia 54 years. He had been a rural mail carrier 39 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church and AF and AM Home Lodge No. 89, both in Centralia, and of the Royal Arch, Seneca.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie McGhee, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Eileen Young, Centralia, and Mrs. Betty Fyke, Littleton, Colo.; three sons, Alan McGhee, Overland Park, Charles McGhee, McPherson, and Larry McGhee, 5513 W. 28th, Topeka; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Carroll, Colton, Calif., Mrs. Edith Dutton, Sanford, Fla., Mrs. Helen Wargo, Kansas City; a brother, Everett McGhee, Ogden, Utah; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Centralia Methodist Church. Burial will be in Centralia Cemetery. Hayes Funeral Home, Centralia, is in charge of arrangements
