Died of Smallpox. The eminent diarist and judge, Samuel Sewall, Sr., was a pallbearer, as we learned through Sewall's late-in-life letter to his son of same name. A handwritten transcript of this letter was found in the back-pages, upside down, in a notebook owned by Sewall Jr. called "Arithmetick and Copy-book." The letter is now digitized.
