FLOYD EMMETT ALLEN
Floyd Emmett Allen, son of Charles Emmett and Josephine Brandon Allen, was born near LaGrange, Lucas county, Iowa, April 30, 1902 and departed this life April 29, 1927, aged 24 years, 11 months and 29 days, one day before his twenty-fifth birthday.
He is survived by his parents and one brother, Carl C.
He was a member of the Presbyterian church of Chariton, uniting on Easter Sunday, March 27, 1921.
Floyd had been an invalid since early childhood and bore his affliction with a patience that was a great comfort to his devoted parents, whose days and nights were spent in thoughtful, loving care for him. Floyd's days were brightened by visits with his brother Carl and wife and three children, Frances, Fredrick and Robert.
He never failed to greet his relatives and friends with a cheerful smile. He greatly enjoyed reading and was always supplied by his parents and friends with the books, papers and magazines in which he delighted.
Neither pen nor words can explain the vacancy left in the lives of his loved ones by his death.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. J. L. Dool, were held at the family home on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, after which the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Chariton cemetery.
