"Richard bought land and lots on the southern side of the railroad and built his home and grocery store. He also become the first postmaster for the community...before his death Rich sold Jeff his interest in the store. Richard and Pronecia were devoted members of the Simpson Campground Methodist church. They had been members of the Jacob's Chapel Methodist church before...no children of their own...They left their home and farm to her (Carrie King Bousman, great niece) when they died."
