James C. "Jack" Schooler, 78, husband of Linda Harrison Schooler, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Markey Cancer Center.
A native of Clark County, he was the son of the late John L. Schooler and the late Helen Dykes Schooler McFarland. Jack was the former owner of Schooler's Body Shop and current owner of Epperson Septic Service. Jack was also a Kentucky Colonel and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Additional survivors include a son, Rick Lee (Janet) Schooler; a daughter, Jackie McKinney; 3 grandchildren, Richard and Jamie Lynn Schooler and Whitney McKinney, all of Winchester; 3 great-grandchildren, Emily and Conner James Schooler and Gracie Rayne Gillispie; a brother, Junior McFarland of Winchester; a half-sister, Peggy Schooler of Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a son, Mark Lee "Scoop" Schooler.
Services will be conducted at 1:30pm Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Bill Keller and Rev. Billy Keller. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Harrison, Rick and Richard Schooler, Bryan Gillispie, Tommy Fryer, Richard Stone, Jeff Browning, Wayne Dawes, James Thomas, Dr. Ben Asher and Robert Palmer. Honorary will be Paul Gentry, William Elkin, Carl, Raymond and Paul McIntosh, Ray and David Stanfield, Carl McKinney, James Tackett and George "Bucky" Byrd and all of his golfing buddies.
Visitation will be 5-8pm Friday.
