Resident of Woodstock, Ct. when he bought 80 acres at Amherst Oct 1789; resident of Amherst by 1790 and an early member of 2nd Church. 15 acres developed and 50 acres undeveloped in 1790; 20 acres developed and 60 acres undeveloped 1795 (an average farm). The same farm through 1810. In 1815 he had 25 acres developed and 90 acres undeveloped. He sold his farm to Luther Fox (perhaps a business partner) in Nov 1819. He had buildings and 55 acres 1820 and 60 acres in 1825. In 1830 he had a half interest in buildings and 55 acres. He may have been a Revolutionary soldier.

After the death of Hannah Goodell, and Stephen Goodell, Lydia went to live with David and took care of him. Church records show they both joined the church from the same address.
