A.A. "Bud" Ewalt
Funeral services for A.A. "Bud" Ewalt, 87, of Carnegie were held Thursday, march 18, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Carnegie with Harold Mosley and Dr. Richard Tinker officiating.
Bud was born December 15, 1916 in Mangum to William Dunkley and Effie Mae (McCurdy) Ewalt and died Monday, March 15, 2004 at his home south of Carnegie.
He spent his early years in Granite and later moved to McAlester and graduated from McAlester High School. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He received the EAME Service Ribbon, one Silver Service Star and one Bronze Service Star Distinguished, Unit Badge GO 66, WD 44 and Good Conduct Medal. He married Dortha Smith on August 1, 1941. He has lived in the Caddo County area since 1954 and was a longtime area farmer. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dortha of the home; two sons, Joe Ewalt and wife, Jane of Oklahoma City and Jimmy Ewalt and wife, Mary of Carnegie; one daughter, Cathy Keown and husband, Ron of Walters; seven grandchildren, Ryan and Cara Keown, Ross and Rachel Ewalt, Mandy Ewalt Bellamy and husband, Brad, Jace Ewalt and Jenna Ewalt; one brother, William John Ewalt and wife, Wanda of Wichita Falls, Texas; one sister, Ruby Neighbors of Granite and one step sister, Charlece Cothrum of Altus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothy Faulkner and one infant son, John Arnold Ewalt.
Burial was in the Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of the Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home in Carnegie.
