AUGUSTA STAICU
---Mrs. Nick Staicu died Thursday night at her home in La Plata following and illness of two weeks with a heart ailment. She was sixty-seven years old.
---Mrs. Staicu, whose maiden name was Augusta Collins, was born east of La Plata February 6, 1876, the daughter of John M. and Virginia Collins.
---She was married to Harry Johnson and they made their home near La Plata and in Medill for several years. Three sons were born to them, Roy, Henry and Paul. All of the sons and her husband have preceded her in death. After her husbands death she move to Helena, Montana.
---She was married to Nick Staicu in August, 1920. He died in August of this year.
---Mr. and Mrs. Staicu came to La Plata in 1928 to take care of her sister, Mrs. Summers Daugherty who was ill. After her sisters death they remained in the house with Mr. Daugherty who is still living.
---She leaves two grandchildren, Louise Johnson of St. Louis and Harry T. Johnson of Butte, Montana.
---Besides her grandchildren, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Virginia Belt and a brother, Kemp Collins, both of San Diego, California.
---Mrs. Staicu was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the White Shrine of Jerusalem at Kirksville. She was also a member of the La Plata Christian Church.
---Services were conducted Wednesday afternoon of this week at the Christian Church at 2:30 by Rev. Shumaker of Shelbina. Burial was in the La Plata cemetery.
