María de los Dolores Guadalupe Antonia Marciala Argüello y Moraga was born at the Presidio of San Francisco at 10 PM on June 30, 1801. She was baptized in the Presidio Chapel July 2, 1801 (SFD Baptism 02272). She was the youngest daughter of Lieutenant José Darío Argüello (1753-1827) and María Ignacia Moraga (1760-1829). Her parents came to Alta California with Rivera in 1781, but later returned to Guadalajara, Jalisco, where they both died. She married soldado Antonio María Osio (born Mission San José, BC) at San José del Cabo, Baja California, in 1822. She died at Monterey the day after she buried her last surviving child. María Dolores was buried the following day in the Monterey Presidio Chapel (San Carlos) cemetery, November 10, 1827 (SC Death 02615).
