HERRIN, Ill. — Billie Lee Bonds, 73, of Herrin, formerly of Kankakee, died Sunday.
Mr. Bonds worked for many years at Kankakee Electric Steel in Kankakee and retired as owner of Bonds Construction.
Survivors include two sons, Rickey Bonds of Paducah, Ky., and Darrin Bonds of Johnston City; a daughter, Rhonda Bonds Martin of Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, Cecil Bonds of Johnston City and Henry Bonds of Bourbonnais; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Kincade Bonds; five sisters; and two brothers. His parents were John Henry and Rosie E. Brease Bonds.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo., with the Rev. Danny Hanners officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Arbor, Mo.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

HERRIN -- Billie Lee Bonds, 73, formerly of Kankakee, died Sunday, March 27, 2011.
He was born June 29, 1938, in Randles, Mo., the son of John Henry and Rosie E. Brease Bonds. He and Shirley Ann Kincade were married March 18, 1960, and she preceded him in death Jan. 15, 2006.
Billie worked many years at Kankakee Electric Steel and retired as owner of Bonds Construction.
Survivors include two sons, Rickey (Kimberly) Bonds of Paducah and Darrin (Heather) Bonds of Johnston City; one daughter, Rhonda Bonds (Dave) Martin of Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, Cecil Bonds of Johnston City and Henry Bonds of Bourbonnais; nine grandchildren, Jamie (Troy) Cailteux, Brandon Bedore, Autumn Hill, Amy Martin, Aaron Martin, Adam Martin, Jacob Martin, Zoe Bonds and Jeffrey Bonds; and three great-grandchildren, Kate Cailteux, Annabelle Martin and Pierce Cailteux.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; five sisters, Ethel Hanners, Pauline Stevens, Marie Benn, Dorothy James and Ossie Enders; and two brothers, Jimmy Bonds and Melvin Bonds.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011, in Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo., with the Rev. Danny Hanners officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Arbor. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the funeral chapel.
