Ernestine Mary Ackmann, of Marthasville, Mo., passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011 at St. John Mercy Hospital in Washington, Mo., at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 16 days.

Ernestine was born to Claude and Sophie (Monroe) Davis on July 2, 1932 in St. Charles, Mo.

She was united in marriage to Carl Florence Ackmann on November 18, 1950 in Warren County, Mo. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2002. They celebrated 51 years of marriage.

Ernestine was a LPN for the nursing homes in Warrenton and Jonesburg and the Emmaus Home in Marthasville, Mo. She worked at Woolworths in St. Louis and at Blue Moon Restaurant in Warrenton. She was owner and operator of His and Hers Tavern in Treloar. After her retirement she helped her husband at Carl's Garage in Treloar and worked part-time at the Treloar Post Office. This past year she became co-owner of Genovese's Little Sicily in Bowling Green, Mo., along with her daughter and son-in-law. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Holstein, Mo.

Survivors include one daughter, Michelle Dawn "Missy" Pratte and husband, Leonard, of Bowling Green, Mo., one brother, Claude "Jerry" Davis and wife, Donna, of Nixa, Mo., two sisters, Josie Davis of Missouri and Barbara Davis of California, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, James Davis, and five sisters, Bobbie Carnide, Priscilla Spencer, Juanita Davis, Sarah Hasenjaeger and Claudine Armstrong.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Lichtenberg-Martin Funeral Home, 16137 State Hwy. 47, Marthasville, Mo. 63357. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Holstein, Mo. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
