Robert Stoneroad
Funeral for Robert S. Stoneroad, who died Thursday in his Portland home, will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Portland Memorial Funeral Home. He was 80. Mr. Stoneroad was born in Portland. He was a 1924 graduate of University of California at Berkeley and a Navy veteran of World War I. In Portland, he was employed as a salesman for W.P.. Fuller & Co. until he moved to Walla Walla in 1935. He was employed there as a manager of W.P. Fuller & Co. until his retirement in 1965 when he returned to Portland. He was employed by Portland Memorial Cemetery from 1966 until 1976. Mr. Stoneroad was a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Shriners Lodge in Walla Walla. Survivors include his wife, Lena K.; a son, Robert S. Jr. of Beaverton; daughters, Eileen Galer of Westlake Village, Calif., and Judy Lapsley of Danville, Calif.; stepdaughters, Eleanor Strowbrigde of Corvallis and Carolyn Hibbard of Newport Beach, Calif; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Entombment will be in Portland Memorial Mausoleum. The family suggest remembrances be contributions to Hillsdale Community Church. (The Oregonian, 02 Feb 1980)
