Funeral services for Juana Jean Gibbs McKissack, age 83, of Bonham, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 9, 2008 in the Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Thomas Peel will officiate. Burial will follow in the Arledge Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. McKissack passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at the Denison Manor.
She was born on September 24, 1924 in the Tulip Community of Fannin County, the daughter of Russell Albert Gibbs and Ruth Lee Thompson Gibbs. She attended schools in the Duplex area and was a member of the Fannin Bible Baptist Church. She was a workshop supervisor for MHMR and and greeter at Wal-Mart for several years

She was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Ray McKissack, brothers, Stanley "Buddy" Gibbs and Eddie Gibbs and one sister Sara Lee Keeton.
She is survived by son Jess Russell "Rusty" McKissack and wife Diane of Buffalo, NY, daughter Edith Everett and husband Vance of Sherman, brother Peyton Thomas Gibbs of Bonham, sisters Jimmie Carol Walker of Bonham, Phyllis Gopffarth of Bonham, Norma White of San Antonio, and Beverly Havens of Pottsboro grandchildren Stacy Lea Martin, Alexis Everett, Kimberly Rivers, and Jessica McKissack and Nathan McKissack, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Wise Funeral Home Chapel from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008.
