Bill (Pecos) Hardaway, 69, of Pickens, passed away March 28, 2011 at Antlers. He was born March 15, 1942 at Pickens, the son of Joseph and Vicie Blankenship Hardaway. Bill had lived in McCurtain County most of his life and was of the Assembly of God faith. He was a Diesel Mechanic and enjoyed working, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Hardaway and a sister, Dauthine Axton. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Gary Hardaway and wife Lisa, Justin Hardaway and wife Alana and Johnny Hardaway and wife Aquilla all of Pickens; daughters, Katherine (Suzie) Paz of Pickens and Lana Kay Collins and husband Greg of Carthage, Mississippi; brothers, Barney Hardaway of Pickens, Pete (The Fox) Hardaway of Montana, Raymond Hardaway of Pickens and Joe Hardaway, Jr of Hugo; sisters, Pearl Cross of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Vedis Whisenhunt of Lane, Oklahoma and Dixie Holmes of Pickens; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
