Walter J. Ray, formerly of Yonkers, died November 17, 2002 in Miami, FL. He was 64. Born January 21, 1938 in Yonkers to Sylvester T. and Eleanor C. Ray, he attended Sacred Heart High School. He retired from the United States Marine Corps, First Marine Air Wing in 1976 with the rank of Captain, after serving 22 years, including Vietnam. Mr. Ray is survived by his son, Dennis W. Ray of Washington, DC, daughter Pamela Ray of VA and former wife Patricia B. Ray of VA, as well as sisters Catherine R. Thomas of Yonkers and Patricia M. Hyland of Stonybrook, NY and brother William R. McCarthy of NH. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother John J. Ray. Burial will take place December 4th at Calverton National Cemetery, Long Island, NY.
