Funeral services for Mrs. Inez Vaden, 75, 1230 E. Maple, Cushing, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 1985 in the Memory Chapel of the Fairley-Hackler Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Matthews as the officiant.
Special music was provided by the pre-recorded sacred music "Nearer My God To Thee" and "How Great Thou Art."
Those serving as casketbearers were: Cecil Thornhill, Fred Wilson, Jim Davis, Bob Vassar, J. C. Knoch, and Dave Clark.
Interment under the direction of the Fairley-Hackler Funeral Home was conducted in the Oak Dale Cemetery.
A native of New Mexico, Mrs. Vaden was born September 20, 1909 at Quay, the daughter of the late Edward and Lula (Epps) Damron. She came to Oklahoma at the age of 4 years, settling with her family at Hinton. Mrs. Vaden graduated from the Blackwood Davis Institute of Business in Oklahoma City. In 1930, Mrs. Vaden came to Drumright where she was united in marriage to Frank Vaden on August 12, 1932. Mrs. Vaden moved to Cushing in 1958 where she had continued to reside. She had been employed with the NAPA Store as a bookkeeper and later with the Cushing Regional Hospital.
In June 1976, Mrs. Vaden was preceded in death by her husband, Frank. Mrs. Vaden died at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26 in the Rest Haven Nursing Home.
Those whom survive include a son, Mr. Ed Vaden of Route 4, Cushing; a brother, Mr. Aaron Damron of Roff, Oklahoma; a sister, Mrs. George (Iona) Murrary, Hinton, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, Mrs. Ted (Lori) Burns and Mrs. Bill Vaden, both of Cushing; 2 great granechildren and several nieces and nephews.
