Mrs. Ruth P. Scutt, East Main St. died Tuesday, October 16, 1984 at the Houghton Nursing Care Facility following a long illness.
Born March 22, 1898 at Portville, New York, she was a daughter of Smith and Fanny Bell Parish. In 1921 she married Dr. Dana R. Scutt who survives.
Mrs. Scutt was a graduate of the Portville High School, the Lima Seminary, Lima, NY and had attended Cornell University. She was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church, Past Superintendent of the Church Sunday School, member and past officer of the District United Methodist Women. She had a 50 year perfect attendance in the Robert Raiks Sunday School System. She was also a member of the Cuba Travelers Club and Chautauqua Institute reading class.
Surviving besides her husband are a son, Howard Scutt of Seneca Falls, NY, two daughters, Mrs. Ray D. (Althea) Meek of Walnut, Calif. and Mrs. J. Monroe (Marion) Cole of Danville, PA. 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and two brothers, David Parish of Daytona Beach, Fla. and Earl Parish of Portville.
Friends may call at the Nicholson Funeral Home, 24 Genesee Pkwy., Cuba on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Cuba United Methodist Church.
The Reverand David Derk, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Chestnut Hill Cemetery Portville.
Memorials if desired may be made to the Cuba United Methodist Church.
