Mr. Cravens was born in Wayne county May 30, 1891, the son of James and Cora Cravens. He was a lifelong resident of this county and was a member of the Mt. Olivet Methodist church.
In 1910 he was married to Naomi Courtright and four children were born to this union.
Surviving are his widow; two sons, Floyd and Paul; two daughters, Mrs. Verl Gibson and Mrs. William Monroe; two brothers Claude and George; three sisters, Mrs. I. B. Book, Mrs. Irvin Nutter, and Mrs. Walter Poole; five grandsons; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at the Ellen Moore Methodist church with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Nales Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
