Kathryn died Saturday, March 25, 2017. She was born in Danville, Kentucky on December 11, 1924, one of 14 children born to the late Isaac Clinton and Ethel May Crowe Cook. She retired from Franklin County Public Schools and was a member of Christian Assembly Church. Katie loved being outdoors, gardening and quilting. She was a dedicated and hard-working woman, as well as, a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estil B. Girtley; son, David Girtley; daughter, Barbara Jean Girtley; brothers, Cecil, Howard, Roy, and Lester Cook; sister, Lillie Mae Cook and two infant sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Girtley (Geraldine), Donnie Girtley (Juanita), Steve Girtley (Jackie); daughter-in-law, Geraldine Girtley; brothers, Clarence Cook, Frankie Cook; sisters, Frances Cook Hafley, Louise Cook Ruark, Marie Cook Mills, and Allene Cook; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
