HARRISONBURG, Dec. 29 - Funeral services for William Byron Blakemore, seventy-six, well known resident of Harrisonburg and prominent livestock dealer who passed away early Saturday morning, were held Sunday afternoon at two o’clock from his home, 133 North High Street.
Mr. Blakemore was born on February 26, 1865 at Spring Creek the son of the late A. J. and Mary Jane Phillips Blakemore, and spent the greater part of his life in Rockingham county.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Miss Blanche Blakemore and Mrs. Claude Garber, Harrisonburg; Mrs. Mary Shearer, Washington; one son, Byron Blakemore, Jr., and one sister, Mrs. E. G. Crist, Harrisonburg, and four grandchildren.
Among those from a distance attending the funeral were: Forest Stover, of Staunton; Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Stover and son, Ralph, of Mt. Solon.
