John M. Faber, 88, of 506 Sixth Ave. N.W., Cascade, died from a broken heart, at 7:48 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, at Shady Rest Care Center.
Joint services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Martin's Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, both in Cascade. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m.
She was born on Oct. 10, 1912, in Cascade, daughter of Victor and Mary (Kremer) Manternach. She received her education in the Temple Hill area schools.
He was born on Oct. 6, 1911, in Cascade, son of Henry and Elizabeth (Kleitsch) Faber. He received his education in the Cedar Valley Country School, rural Cascade.
They were married on May 4, 1938, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cascade. They farmed in the rural Sand Springs area until their retirement on Aug. 9, 1980. They were members of St. Matthias Parish and its Altar and Rosary Society in Cascade.

They were preceded in death by their parents; and a son, Robert, in infancy.
Mrs. Faber also was preceded in death by five brothers, Ed, Al, Florian, George and Matt Manternach; and two sisters, Cecelia Recker and Hilda Kurt.
Mr. Faber also was preceded in death by his wife, Ida; and two sisters, Margaret Rahe and Esther Rosenswerg.
