He was born May 18, 1919 in Steuben County to John and Arlene Zabst Gibbeny.
Mr. Gibbeny retired in 1982 as a supervisor on the Indiana Toll Road. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of Angola American Legion Post 31, Fremont Masonic Lodge and Fort Wayne Scottish Rite, Mizpah.
He is survived by his wife, Frieda Suffel, whom he married Dec. 26, 1946, and one son, Jerry Lee Gibbeny of Angola.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 11 at Klink Funeral Home, Angola, with Pastor Darald Beck officiating. Burial will be in South Scott Cemetery, rural Angola. Military graveside rites were performed by Angola American Legion Post 31.
Memorials may be made to the Angola Assembly of God.
