THOMAS RAY SHANIGHT
---Thomas Ray Shanight died at his home in La Plata at 10:30 last night of a heart attack.
---Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 in the Christian Church conducted by Rev. R. L. Prather, assisted by Rev. Fred L. Hudson. Burial will be in the La Plata cemetery. The body is at the Wilson Funeral Home.
---The deceased was born at Ethel June 17, 1886 and was a son of Charles and Mary Belle Shanight.
---He was married to Alta Gilbert on December 16, 1908 and six children were born to them. One daughter Helen, died several years ago.
---He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Jess Sanders of Kansas City, Harry and Herbert of Eureka, Mrs. Gail Albright of Washington, D. C. and Belle at home. He also has two sisters, Mrs. Linnie Nollman of St. Charles and Mrs. Hazel Swank of Rothsville.
---In early manhood he was a telegraph operator of the Santa Fe Railroad at Ethel and then for twenty-eight years he was employed by the Sinclair Pipe Line Company at La Plata, retiring July 1, 1951.
---He was a member of the Christian Church and a teacher of the Men's Bible Class. He had been a Sunday School teacher for forty-three years at La Plata and other places where he had lived.
