PAONIA - Bill R. Ashley, age 62, a coal miner and a resident of Paonia for 10 years, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, in the Paonia Care & Rehabilitation Center at Paonia. Bill R. Ashley was born in Ozark, Ark., on Aug. 31, 1938, the son of Robert L. Ashley Sr. and Bessie (Hensley) Ashley. He received his high school education at Carbon High School in Price, Utah.
The loves of Bill's life included the outdoors, music, and mountainbiking.
Survivors who were blessed to share Bill's life include his mother, Bessie Daniel, of Paonia; and one brother, Robert Ashley and wife Rose, of East Carbon, Utah.
Bill was preceded in death by his father; stepfather, Kenneth Daniel; and a half brother, Gary L. Daniel.
Funeral Services in loving remembrance of Bill's life will beofficiated by James Gall on Thursday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Paonia Taylor Funeral Service Chapel.
Interment will follow the service in Cedar Hill Cemetery at Paonia.
