Fred Albert Zipperle Jr., 85, of Electra, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, in Wichita Falls.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Eastview Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Johnston officiating.

Services are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home of Vernon.

Mr. Zipperle had served in the Army infantry. He had been a truck driver.

Survivors include four daughters, Leona Chaney, Alberta McCoy, Kathy Duren and Juanita Butler, all of Electra; one brother, Carl Zipperle of Vernon; three sisters, Pauline Ballard of Meno, Okla., Sara Clark of Tierce, Mo. and Rosie Miller of Oklahoma City; and 15 grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the service time Monday.

Fred was born January 7, 1926 in Electra, Texas, he was the son of the late Fred Albert Zipperle Sr. and the late Alice Phillips Zipperle. He married Mary Graninger on May 8, 1954 in Wichita Falls, Texas, she preceded him in death on October 25, 1979. He was a resident of Elliot all of his life. He was in the Army serving in the Infantry. He ran the motor grader for Wilbarger Co., was a farmer/rancher, worked in the salvage business and worked as a truck driver. Surviving are four daughters Leona Chaney of Electra, TX. Alberta McCoy of Electra, TX. Kathy Duren of Electra, TX. Juanita Butler of Electra, TX. One brother Carl Zipperle of Vernon, TX. Three sisters Pauline Ballard of Meno, OK. Sara Clark of Tierce, Missouri Rosie Miller of Oklahoma City, OK. 15 grand children, numerous Great Grandchildren and several Great Great Granchildren He was preceded in death by three sons, William Gene Gearld, Don Lee Gearld and Junior Gearld, daughter, Iantha Imel, Grandson Shawn Sullivan, Granddaughter Nita Woodard, One brother William Zipperle. Pallbearers will be Zack Woodard, Mitchell Nava, Jerry Imel, Larry Ashbrook, Paul Gearld and PeeWee Cochran. Family visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time Monday October 17, 2011.
