OBITUARY :
WILLIAM RUSSELL BENSON, 84, 4364 Chapel Road, died Tuesday at the Franklin Square Hospital.
Born in Va., he was the son of Robert and Rebecca Benson.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel M. Gardner Benson; two sons, Cecil P. Woods of Perry Hall and Gardner L. Woods of Dundalk, Md.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. The Rev. Randy W. Barr will officiate.
Burial in Smithsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 to 1 p.m. on Friday.
