Suggested edit: Jacob C. Childers was the son of Squire Emory Childers and Mary Malinda Fortenberry and was born in Lawrence Co. AR. According to the 1860 Census – his family had moved to Van Zandt Co. TX. I believe his parents passed away between 1860 and 1870, as I cannot find death or burial records.. I'm not sure who he lived with in 1870, but he was with his sister Mary and husband John Spears in 1880 with 2 sisters.
