A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2002, at the chapel of Southport Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Dr. Wayne Adkisson, the Rev. Jeffrey Johnson and the Rev. Ray Webb officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2002, in Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
Mrs. Nantz was born May 13, 1920, in Gastonia, a daughter of the late George Magby and Fannie Smith Kale, and moved to Saint James from Greensboro in 1997. She was retired from Hines Shoes, Greensboro.
Survivors include her husband since 1943, David Nantz of the home; two sons, Jeff Nantz of Greensboro and Tim Nantz of Chester, N.J.; two sisters, Zoe Robinson of Gastonia and Georgia Melton of Hillsborough; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2002, at the home of Jeff Nantz, 2824 Irwin Drive, Saint James.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southport Baptist Church, Building Fund, 200 N. Howe St., Southport, NC 28461 or to the organization of the donors choice.
