Death came unexpectedly to Charlie Avery Cain of Delano, Calif., on Tuesday, April 9, due to a heart attack.

He was the eldest child of the late T. R. and Frankie Sis Cain. He was born October 15, 1894, at Huntsville, and lived here until January, 1937. Since that time he has made his home in Delano, Calif.

Mr. Cain was elected road overseer of War Eagle Township in 1930 and was re-elected in 1932, serving under the late Alfred Hawn. He will long be remembered by his many friends in both Arkansas and California for his many good deeds and kindness and hospitality toward everyone. Proof of this was shown by the 81 families who sent beautiful floral wreaths.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mae Susie Cain, of Delano; two sons, Doyle D. of Long Beach, Calif., and Loy D. of Victorville, Calif.; two grandson, Delbert and Wayne, of Long Beach; four brothers, Creed and Lem Cain of Huntsville, Dell Cain of Long Beach, and Ewell Cain of Buena Park, Calif., and four sisters, Mrs. Audie Fritts of Clute, Texas; Mrs. Hope Jackson of Fayetteville; Ora Cain of Bellflower, Calif., and Mrs. Nora Weis of Bakersfield, Calif.

Funeral services were held in Delano Friday, April 12, with Rev. Bernard Lowry officiating. Burial was in Delano.

Pallbearers were; Robert Bassett, Darrell Bassett, Jim Wilson, Leonard Webb, Hayden McPhetridge, and Loren McPhetridge.
