Rev. Cloid Lee Adams was born July 13, 1914 to the late John & Asalee Henry Adams in Point Blank, Texas. At the age of twelve, he accepted Christ as his Lord & Savior, and joined Shilo Missionary Baptist Church at Snowhill.
He moved to Huntsville, Texas in 1943 where he united with Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

July 16, 1938 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Betty Elizabeth Rodgers, who preceded him in death. To this union, three children were born.

Rev. Adams' education included graduation from High School in Point Blank, Texas and Theology School in Conroe, Texas.

Rev. Adams' Christian Experience included serving as a deacon for many years at Greater Zion, a member of the Senior Choir, Superintendent of Sunday School, sang with the Greater Zion Male Chorus, involved with Prison Ministry for the Huntsville Walls Unit, Treasurer for the Central District Association of Texas, and served as Pastor of Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church from 1970 until his retirement in 1992. The present structure was built under his leadership in 1977.

His Professional Experience included work as a Longshoreman at Todd Dry Dock in Galveston, Texas; Log Cutter, Head Custodian as Sam Houston High School, and employment with Huntsville Independent School District in the Transportation/Mechanic Department. Rev. Adams was a member of the Masonic Family (Ancient Square Lodge # 375, Point Blank, Texas).

Rev. Cloid Lee Adams leaves to cherish his memories; one son; Cloid Adams, Jr., (Anita) of Many Farms, AZ; two daughters, Shirley Kirkwood (Mack), & Earnestine Hagans (Roy) of Houston, TX; four grandchildren; Cloid Adams, III (Felicia) and Nitra Kaye Hawkins (Brian) of Chandler, AZ, Keaton D. Kirkwood (Yoshida) of Austin, TX, and Twanna Foreman of Houston, TX; three great grandchildren; Cloid, IV & Mia Adams, and Alina Hawkins of Chandler, AZ; one sister, Evola Julks of Houston, TX; two brothers, John E. Adams of Point Blank, TX. & R.A. Adams of Dayton, OH; one sister-in-law, Mary McGowan of Huntsville, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
