10 Day Illness Fatal to Hoopeston Man
Bert A. Weller, 79, of 422 E. Holloway Ave. died at 8:15sp.m. Thur. (Dec 8, 1955) in Lake View Hospital following an illness of ten days.
Mr. Weller was born in Potomac, August 20, 1876 to Johial and Hulda Hollensworth (correction: Hollenbeck) Weller. On January 11, 1955 he married Mace Maxfield and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Leota Hammons of Oklahoma City, Okla; three step daughers, Mrs. Katherine Mayberry of Hoopeston, Mrs. Bernice Steele of Rossville and Mrs. Evelyn Jones of Watseka; a stepson, Harry Maxfield of Camp Pendleton, Calif; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Adams and Mrs. Emma Reynolds both of Potomac and Mrs. Myrtle Walters of Oakland and three brothers, Jesse of Kewaunee, Ind. Elmer of Potomac and Chester of Fairmount.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and a son.
He had resided in the Potomac, Rossville and Hoopeston vicinities all of his life. He was a member of the Methodist church and was an employee of American Can Co.
The body is at Wood and Stocker funeral home. Arrangements are incomplete.

I have an idea that this obituary was written mainly by his new wife and she did not relay the information about all of his time in Oklahoma Territory and state of Oklahoma. He spent many years there as well.
