George Peterson, West Boylston, Mass. - A memorial service was held at United Congregational Church in Worcester, Mass., for George A. Peterson, 83, 134 Temple St., West Boylston, who died Nov. 29 in Providence Care Center in Worcester, Mass., following a brief illness.
He was born in North Bloomfield on Aug. 12, 1914, a son of the late Gustaf and Betty Anderson Peterson. Mr. Peterson was a graduate of North Bloomfield High School, Hiram College in 1937 and earned a masters degree from Ohio State University. He served in the Army during World War II and worked 12 years for the Federal Civil Service in Japan, later joined the Army Security Agency Training Center and School in Ayer, Mass., and retired in 1985 as deputy director of Maintenance Training for the Army Intelligence. Mr. Peterson was a member of the church in Worcester, Mass.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Luella Kaumeheiwa Peterson; a son, Benjamin; three daughters, Betty Ann Perez, Keonaona D. Peterson and Pauahi C. Godbout; sister Maida Hardy of Bristolville; and six grandchildren. Three brothers, Andrew, Frank and Oscar; and a sister, Ellen Boylen are deceased. Burial: Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston, Mass. Arrangements: Fay Brothers Funeral Home in West Boylston, Mass.
