Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Strode Chapel for Mrs. Bess B. Evans, who died Tuesday, April 20, 1976, at her home at 1814 W. Liberty Ave. She was 64. Rev. Lloyd Peters will officiate.
Strode Funeral Home is directing services.
Born at Morenci, Ariz., Nov. 26, 1911, she was the daughter of Jesse H. and Beaufort Bryan. She married Charles A. Evans Sept. 10,1932 in Stillwater.
A graduate of Pond Creek High School, Mrs Evans received her teaching certificate from Oklahoma State University. She lived with her husband in Drumright, Stigler, Okmulgee, Muskogee, and Bismark, N.D. After his retirement from the soil Conservation Service in 1973, the couple moved to stillwater. Mr. Evans survives.
Mrs Evans was a member of the First United Methodist Church, served on the official board of the Bismark Methodist Church, and was past president of the Womans Society of Christian Service in Bismark.
She is survived by a son, Charles A. "Bo" Evans Jr., Winters, Tex.,two grandsons and a sister, Mrs R.H. Simmons, Wichita, Kan.
