Funeral services are to be held for Henry Sherman Vaden, 71, for 25 years a contractor and carpenter here, at 3 o’clock this afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Pearl Pitts, 1501 Elmwood Avenue, where he died yesterday afternoon. He became ill last Friday.
Mr. Vaden was born in the Mt. Zion community of Smith County, near Elmwood. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and the Junior Order of United American Mechanics.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Emma Warren Vaden; daughters, Mrs. Pearl Pitts and Mrs. Sam Young of Nashville; Mrs. Robert Patterson of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. W. B. Evitts of Dixon Springs, Tenn., and Mrs. Sam Green of Miami, Fla.; sons, E. W. Vaden of Nashville, and V. G. Vaden of Detroit, and a sister, Mrs. Joe Green of Nashville.
Pallbearers will be six grandsons, J. R. and L. E. Vaden, Virgil Brazzell, Sherman, J. B., and Dillard Wilburn.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. L. S. Ewton. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
