Red Bay, Ala.~~ William "Chester" Ivy 84, life expired Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. He was born March 25, 1926 in Miss., to George Wesley and Myrtie Gregory Ivy. He was an employee of Keeton Lumber Co., in Red Bay for more than 40 years, and attended Red Bay Frewill Baptist Church in Red Bay.
Survivors are three children; James Hugh(Andora),
Judy Thrasher,(David) all of Red Bay, Jimmy (Lori) of Sheffield, Ala., three brothers, Shelby (Wilda), Harold (Carolyn) and Maynard (Pat) all of Fulton; five grandchilden, Randal Ivy, Daryl Ivy, Jermey Ivy, Kristin Ivy and Jennifer Ivv, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death, by his wife, Maxine Gahagan Ivy, (Dec. 2010), a daughter, Rita Gail Ivy,(2001), his parents, one infant twin sister (b&d 03/25/1926). 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Services were on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay, with Bro. Steve Lindsey, officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
