Born in Ephrata, he was a son of the late Charles S. and Elsie D. (Eberly) Althouse.
He was married to Alma (Nolt) Althouse, who died in 1991. They had celebrated 50 years of marriage in that year. He is survived by two sons, two daughters, 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, a sister, and a sister-in-law.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Abram E. Althouse. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at the John S. Sell
Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, at 11 a.m. Friends may call Thursday at the chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, Attn: Development, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140. Arrangements are by Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, Elizabethtown.
