George was a third generation Joliet resident and former Marine. Retired from Cement Masons, Local #11. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1080, VFW Cantigny Post #367 and the Croation Club. He was an avid fisherman and world traveler. George lived his life to the fullest and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Arlene (nee Tallman) Plese of Joliet; three daughters, Cheryl (Michael) Delrose, Cynthia (Theodore) Jarz, and Vicky (John) Ramuta; Bopa to six grandchildren, Chad and Alyssa Delrose; Rachel and Jacob Jarz; and Michael and Matthew Ramuta; one brother, Anthony (Dorothy) Plese; three sisters, Mary (Conrad) Kuszynski, Joyce (Willard) Pearson and Shirley (Ernie) Hicks; brother-in-law, Bud Tallman; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Florence (nee Kennedy) Plese.
Memorial Mass to celebrate his life was held Friday, March 25, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Plainfield.
